Background
Lola was born around Pasadena, California. She was born as a twin, with her sister Layla. They were both orphaned shortly after birth, abandoned to their doom around the ruins of Cal-Tech. Their fates seemed sealed, until a prototype Miss Nanny robot heard their cries. The Nanny's programming kicked in, as it plucked them from the wastes, taking them inside it's shelter in the renains of Cal-Tech. The years passed, the Nanny bot raising and taking care Lola and her sister. They called it Nanna, and for all intents and purposes, Nanny was their adoptive parent.
Growing up under the protection of a robot, and in the ruins of a technology focused university, Lola found her calling in finding and fixing up whatever she could find laying about. As they grew older, the lack of social interaction grew apparent to anyone that talked to either of them.
Layla eventually began to develop violent tendencies, reacting harshly over the simplest things. Most commonly by breaking Lola's gadgets that she tinkered on. Around their 18th birthday, she finally snapped, going into a rage over Nanna accidently knocking over a water bottle. She took a lead pipe, as she bashed and swung at her adoptive robotic parent, destroying the Nanny Bot.
Lola came back after a day of scavenging a work lab on the other side of campus. Seeing the ripped apart Nannt bot, she broke down. She quickly sifted through the pile of parts, searching for the robot's memory and personality chip. It was slightly cracked, and the proprietary chip couldn't be accessed without working, compatible hardware.
She vowed to rebuild her parent, and to preserve her memories. Her sister had left, long gone by the time Lola returned. While preparing to set off in her adventure, she found a holotape with her name written on it. It was a goodbye tape from Layla. She kept the tape, hoping that someday her sister would return to normal, but until then, she had a mission to do.
She left the ruins of Cal-Tech, and randomly picked a direction. She started South, wandering in the wasteland in search of what she was after.
