'DAMMIT ELDER, GET THIS BUCKET OF BOLTS STARTED UP!'
'WHAT DOES IT LOOK I'M DOIN'?!'
The Cars engine grumbled to life, and Elder screamed 'GOT IT!' as they drove away from the outpost, its alarms blaring. It was winter time, and the snow covered road proved difficult to drive on. Pvt. Percival Elder Jr and his comrade, Sgt. Ned Waters, were assigned to do some simple recon of the area near Point Mackenzie due to some information regarding a Chinese outpost in the area. It appears that the information was true, and Elder and Waters had chosen to take their 'Recon' a step further. They infiltrated the outpost, and had managed to get a few documents, though Elder lost his gun and was utilizing a Chinese Officer's Sword. They began driving off from the outpost, multiple Chinese soldiers running out and opening fire on the rundown military vehicle. One of the soldiers charged forward, jumping onto the hood of the vehicle as he screamed 'Shíjiān qù nǐ dì měiguó měiguó!' at the top of his lungs. The Soldier moved his rifle up, trying to blow Elders skull wide open, but Elders swung his right hand towards the Chinese mans face, saying 'First you get on my fuckin' lawn then you have the audacity to try and kick me out of my own car!' doing it again, with more force. The Chinese Soldier slid along to the passenger side of the hood, and Elder soon realized something horrifying: He couldn't turn, and as he looked to his left, he saw the two front wheels had come off, and rolled infront of them. Looking forward, he saw they were about to go off the road and crash, and all three simultaneously screamed in terror, speeding off the road. They'd soar down for but a moment, before crashing into the ground below. Elder lost consciousness.
Earlier...
The two slid inside through the barely open door, a Chinese soldier leaned back in a chair, snoring. Waters moved forward, taking out his knife. He placed his left hand over the Chinese Soldiers mouth, slicing his throat. Blood gushed out of his throat as he let out a muffled choke, slowly going limp over a few painful-to-watch seconds. Waters gestured for Elders to follow along again, and so he did, both of them continuing down along the Outpost. From what they could gather, it was a communications outpost, designed to keep watch on the soldiers of Anchorage and the area surrounding it and relay it back to an unknown Command Base, and that was just by the job assignments pinned to the wall (Waters was fluent in Chinese, which he stated before on break with Elders that, one day it would come in handy). 'Elders, we're gonna make our way down to their garage, set it up to blow and scedaddle the fuck out of here, got it?' said Waters, his voice in a hushed tone as he hugged a wall. Elders simply nodded nervously, infiltration was something he was NOT trained in whatsoever, so hopping into an enemy filled outpost in some sort of stealth mission in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere was pretty new to him.
Elders kept crouched down alongside Ned, both somehow miraculously making it so close to the garage. They moved along the eerie corridors, some snow gently smacking into the barred windows, the sunlight causing the corridor to be lit in only certain areas. However, they did not go unnoticed, and this was supported by the fact they heard 'Yǒngyuǎn bù yìng gāi lái zhèlǐ!' behind them. Both of them turned around, raising their rifles at the Chinese Soldier. He was holding an Officer's sword, and he swung it around, doing some tricks that even Elder and Waters had to admit were impressive. It lasted for about 5-10 seconds before he held the tip out to them threateningly, and Waters and Elder just looked at each other and shrugged, before peppering the Soldier with bullets. His body collapsed, and, of course, the alarm blared due to the sudden gunfire. Waters grabbed Elders by the collar, pulling him with him as they both ran towards the Garage, loading in a new magazine to their guns. The stampede of Chinese Soldiers was behind them, and the duo ran into the garage, Waters pulling the pin on a grenade and throwing it behind them, the grenade rolling to a stop between two vehicles.
The explosion was, simply put, devastating. It rocked the outpost, and the screams of Chinese Soldiers behind them sounded like they could be heard from the other side of Anchorage. However, a simple explosion was not going to stop the seemingly huge amount of troops fully, and they continued to push. The duo came to the main entrance, seeing the gate was closed with their ticket out of there. Waters set himself up at the corridor, saying 'Elders, go up to the control tower and open the gate! I'll hold these commies off!' to Elder, to which he said 'Gotcha!' in a response, running up the staircase to the control tower for the gate. As he opened the door, however, he came face to face with a Officer soldier. The officer charged forwards, wielding a sword as he kicked Elder in the gut. Despite him wearing armor, he got slightly winded from that, letting out a gasp as he dropped his gun to the floor, backing up slightly. The Officer kicked the gun away, the AR going down between the steps and into the dark area below the stairs as he began to slowly walk towards the defenseless Private. He rose his fists, saying 'Come on then, ya lil' yellow monkey!' to the Chinese Officer, who screamed 'Sǐ!' as he swung the sword towards Elder in a slashing movement. Elder ducked downwards, it scraping his helmet and going off course, where Elder counter-acted with slamming his foot into the Officer's groin, making him squeal out a yelp, trying to swing the sword again. Elder wrapped his arm around the Officer's arm, twisting upwards in a painful motion for the Officer as it dislocated his arm. The sword dropping from his hand. However, the Officer kicked back in the same spot, making Elder keel over and let out a loud yelp of pain as the man kicked him in his own ladies only fruit-punch vendor, the Officer reaching down as he tried to reach for the sword with his other arm. However, Elder got behind the Officer, pushing him forward towards the stairs. The Officer was going face first, letting out a loud shriek as he fell down the stairs, landing at the bottom, unconscious. Elder picked up the sword, inspecting it as he said 'Eh, fair trade off.' as he went over to the console. They were all blank, but the big red one looked intriguing to him, so he slammed that down and, what do ya know! It opened the gate.
He ran down to Waters, who was engaged against multiple Chinese Soldiers, yelling 'Lets go! Lets go!' as he slammed the door open, Waters firing off another few more shots at the Soldiers that had gone for cover. They made a run for the vehicle, tools all around it, noticeably near the wheels. However, they paid no heed to this, and simply hopped in the car, leading them to the event of completely wrecking the car.
Three hours later...
Elder awoke, looking around, blurry eyed. He was in the middle of nowhere, on the side of a hill by the coastline. He looked to his left, seeing Waters lying face first in the snow. There were two bullet wounds in his back from the looks of it, and Elders moved over, flipping him over. 'S-Sarge?' piped from Elders, his voice shaky and filled with both disbelief and shock. The Sergeants snow covered face had his eyes closed, not breathing at all. He backed away from the Sergeants dead body, saying 'No no no no no no...This ain't happening...I-I..Not..not happening..' as tears slowly filled his eyes. He curled himself up into a ball, sitting next to the body as he choked up slightly a bit more, his face between his knees as he repeated 'Not happenin'...Not happenin'...Not happenin'..' over and over. However, he jolted upright in fear as he heard a distant explosion, seeing the top of a mushroom cloud, he said 'N-No no..Not happening..' as it got closer, falling to his knees as he put his hands up 'P-Please don't be happening....No..Please--' as snow that was fully hit by the nuke on the side of the hill covered him, rolling down the hill as it built up, hitting the ice and water. It hardened, and the radiation that washed over this icy cocoon put him in cryogenic stasis, his body, combined with the radiation, adapted to its new temperatures rapidly, his breathing slowing almost to a full halt, alongside his heartrate. It painfully slowly went down along the water, the cocoons outer-shell area being filled with air as it kept afloat, and stayed inside of this cocoon.
200 Years Later...
Elder felt incredibly cool, his eyes fluttering open gently as he adjusted to the sunlight, flinching slightly. He looked around: he was in a town that seemed to have been hit, trees simply dead wood, with buildings collapsed in completely or damaged severely. He looked around, beginning to walk along. He looked to his right, seeing 'DANNY'S FLOWERS: ONLY THE BEST OF LA'S BEST SOLD HERE' on a heavily damaged sign, completely flabbergasted. He was in LA? Impossible, he thought. Elders continued walking around and, the surroundings were indeed LA. He heard the gunfire rattling off in the city, and he simply bee-lined it through alley ways, getting to the outskirts of the city.
He looked around, sitting down behind a tree, facing away from LA. He was getting hotter from the running, but at the same time still felt cool. He muttered 'Man..This is just getting worse and worse..What's happening?' as he took off his helmet and mask, resting for a moment. He heard the moo of what seemed to be some sort of cow, shooting back up as he put his helmet on, his goggles up and mask in his right hand, reaching for his sword. He felt his eyes widen as he saw the two headed cow come into view, walking along with items on its back. Soon afterwards, a man in combat armor walked up, holding a Chinese Assault Rifle, he looked at Elder for a solid few seconds, saying 'Boy, what type of fuckin' makeup are you wearin'?' in a rough, deep voice. He was African American, about a solid six foot, and slightly buff. Elder lost the ability to speak for a moment, before stammering 'I-I..I'm not wearing..Makeup..' to the man. He had this expression of 'what-the-fuck' on his face as he stared at Elder, coming forward with a rag. Elder flinched slightly and the man rolled his eyes, wiping the side of Elders face. He moved back, feeling the rag, then touching his skin gently, backing up completely as he said 'Man you are fuckin' ice cold. What the fuck is with your skin?'. Elder was confused, and he said 'I-It's normal skin...I'm just..White..' and the man let out a small chuckle, taking out a piece of glass from a mirror and saying 'Naw, you blue.' as he reflected Elders face back to him. He was indeed blue, and his eyes widened as he wiped at it, saying 'I-I..W-..', completely losing his knowledge of the English language.
The man rolled his eyes, saying 'Look man, I gotta get going before raiders get on my tail. I'm heading for Phoenix, then up to New Vegas. So I gotta get goin' cause it's a long journey.' to Elder. Elder looked up, a glint of hope shining in his eyes as he said 'Phoenix? That's near Red Rock...I think my father's staying in Red Rock for a bit...Can I uh..Tag along?' to the man. He shrugged, saying 'I don't give a shit, do or don't, as long as you don't kill me.' to which Elder gave a simple nod to.
The Journey was quite silent between the two, Elder staying close to the man at all times as they exited the LA Area. He was taken aback by every small creature he saw. The radroaches were quite unnerving to him, and he always circled around the Brahmin when they encountered any new creatures, which the man took great enjoyment in watching this young man be so scared of such simple creatures to him. Eventually, they reached the even more desert-y area, Elder putting back on his mask and goggles as they traveled along. In the matter of a day or so, they reached Casa Grande, and Elders bid farewell to his temporary companion. He headed down to Red Rock, getting there within the next hour or so. Upon arriving, he looked around. Realizing Red Rock must've gotten the worst treatment. It was chaos, and almost all of the buildings were collapsed in the area. He simply choked up at the sight, realizing there was nothing there but gunfire. He walked back the other way.
He had managed to somehow screw up where he was walking, ending up going completely past Phoenix on a different path. He was between the Arizona capital and New Vegas, walking along for the hours on end, his skin protected by the Anchorage Uniform he wore. However, his peaceful walk was soon interrupted by a loud BANG from his right, a bullet slamming in the dirt close to him, causing him to judge. 'LOOK AT THAT BOYS!' yelled a man in some leather armor, holding a hunting rifle with some shitty mask on 'FRESH MEAT!' as he fired another shot. He wasn't close, but more of them appeared, and bullets began slamming in the area around Elder as he started sprinting from the scene. Their cackling could be heard from a mile away as he ran, but getting farther and farther away. Eventually, he couldn't hear them and he slowed down, completely lost at this point. However, he did not give up, finding a road as he started walking along it, and this road lead him to the big dysfunctional town that housed people like Jimmy Romano, leading him to his next set of adventures.
