Skills
Skill: LEVEL OF SKILL/DESCRIPTION
Mechanical Knowhow: Master: With the proper time, tools, and resources, Ryan can fix just about anything, he usually has these things on him so most often it is not a problem, though over time, he has learned how to improvise tools while working during his travels.
Gunplay: Average: Commonly skilled with fighting at a distance, though, given a close quarters weapon, he can manage, especially if he uses the V.A.T.S. function on his pip-boy. Long arms at long distances are preferred though, primarily using a hunting rifle in .308 to fight.
Barter: Average: Ryan overestimates his skill in barter, usually all he does is give a price, and only budge minorly, though when it comes to debating value of something that others don't understand, he'll usually supplement his knowledge to get his way.
Speech: Skilled: Ryan usually is able to talk his way out of shifty situations, using logic and reasoning to try and get his way when he needs something. Especially when it comes to convincing or rallying others in a case where he desperately needs it.
Medical Ability: Dangerous: Putting a scalpel in Ryan's hand is taking a VERY VERY big risk, he can pop rad-x and use stimpacks, but anything much more complicated is asking for trouble.
Luck: Ryan is usually lucky when it comes to having what he needs, though as for life, he's been dealt a pretty rough hand in recent years.
Equipment
Equipment/Gear - DESCRIPTION
Scoped Hunting Rifle: "Chambered in .308, this rifle is a beast, it hits like a sack of bricks, and it's highly accurate with the scope on it. I've carried it all the way from Old Delta, it's been my protector and my friend through the years. Careful maintenance and cleaning have assured me this gun will last a LONG time."
.45 Pistol: "A popular pre-war model of weapon, this puppy has a small clip, but it more than makes up for it in stopping power, the round has some kick, but it is pretty easy to handle, it's a great companion to my rifle for taking on close range targets. Found it in some poor girl's emergency stash, she wasn't able to use it anymore, so I took the thing up."
9mm Drum SMG: "My first gun since I entered Old Delta, given to me as payment for a repair job on another gun of Lawrence's.. It's held me through for quite a while, it's cheap on the ammo, and a good close combat gun as well, though it's not going to do anything against armor. The thing is pretty shoddy, most of it is made out of refined scrap metal now, considering all the patches and repairs I've had to run for it."
"Bastard Rifle": "I call this thing the bastard rifle because of what it is, it's a horrifying bastardization of a .45 SMG combined with a few parts from a hunting rifle, a scope, and a few slight changes here and there on the thing. It fires .45 rounds and could possibly be a replacement hunting rifle if it wasn't shooting .45 ACP so it's a rifle shooting pistol rounds, but regardless, it's an interesting gun, and I think it's fun, I just don't think it's super practical, perhaps I can make some kinda change to fix that someday.
Clothing: "Olive green mechanic's coveralls, they're always soaked in oil and grease from my work in the shop, I can't help but wear them though, they're almost like my skin to me now, they're just natural for me. They're paired with a pair of steel toed contractor's boots that are great for keeping me on my feet in any environment, especially my cluttered shop, well, whenever I have one."
Winter Clothes: "It got cold as I started heading north, so I searched around, and eventually found some old winter clothes, and a few guide books for making them, so I was able modify my coveralls, gave 'em a removable fleece lining, and I also managed to grab me some winter clothes, fleece lined jeans, a white long-sleeve, and a fleecy coat, ridiculously warm. And if it's really bad, I have a ski mask from some lodge I bumped into along the way, it makes me look like some kinda bank robber, but it really keeps your face warm when you need it."
Duffel Bag: "It's some military guy's bag, it's served me well in these years, holding my stuff while scavenging, holding my tools and anything I need otherwise. The name that was on it originally wore off over time, but whoever owned it was some name with a J in it, I've stitched my name into it at a few places, don't know if that's a good thing or a bad one, we'll see."
Welder's Mask: "I use it like a hat, I'm able to quickly flip it down in case I need to do some emergency welding, or as a last ditch effort to avoid getting shot by someone... yeah, I need an actual combat helmet to fight with, but I need it."
Hiking Backpack: "A massive backpack I have packed in case I need to get out of dodge, it's packed with all sorts of survival needs, in case for some reason I can't get away quick enough in the car, or with packing. I've only needed it once, when Old Delta got nuked."
Rad Suit: "A bright, yellow radiation environmental survival suit. It's fantastic at stopping radiation from getting to you, but of course, I don't want it getting cut and broken up during missions, so I only use it for emergencies, or if it's a possible safe location, save for radiation, obviously."
Couch: "I love my couch, and this time, I had a chance to take it with me, and I did, tarped of course, so it doesn't mold during travel."
Nuka-Cola Machine: "Good riddance to that cursed devil machine."
Boat: "A dear old friend and my old hobby, I left it behind in New Delta, hopefully someone else finds use in it."
Deputy Silverstone's Hat and Badge: "Items from a dear old friend... an old flame of mine, and sadly, someone I never got to tell what I thought of her. I don't know where she is, or if she's even alive, but I hope she's doing well, maybe I'll see her again someday, but, this being the wasteland, you never know if you'll see people again."
Sandra's Tags: "Tags I found from an old friend from my roots. She was the only other survivor of my battalion, too bad I had no idea she made it, rest in peace."
Toaster's Flamer: "An icon of the horrors of Greystone, I refuse to part from it, I need to remember what they did there, and this thing is a reminder of that, I'll never forget it. Even if the guy was one of those damned warhounds."
Car: "I am one of the lucky ones, I managed to repair a car, it's unbelievable, but the thing is working, and I'm able to travel so far compared to being on foot. I'm able to take my repair shop on the go, so now, no town will hold me down if it's doomed."
Archer's Button: "A detonater given to me by that vigilante, Archer, she said to only use it when there was no other choice to stop the sheriff... I still have it, and I have no idea what exactly it triggers, though... I kind of feel guilty for not using it in a moment where such a thing happened... hopefully it was for the best."
Pip-Boy 3000: "The holy grail of scavengers, I found it in that bunker I scavenged, mint-condition. It's a relic of the old world, I'm so happy I have it, it makes my life so much easier, and that V.A.T.S function really helps me in close combat, lets me aim much faster than before. And its maps, they're great, though plenty of people keep trying to fiddle around with it, we all know they just want to steal it."
Other Belongings: "I don't want to take up too much time, so I'll just list what other weapons I've got on me, everything from that bunker raid to stuff left behind by friends of mine.

Ryan Danes: "I'm just a man who wants to do what I can to make it out here, and keep myself from turning into a raider to do something like that. I've been through plenty, but I'm still me, and that's all I care about."
Deputy 'Dep' Silverstone (Unknown): "A very good friend of mine back in Old Delta, we don't know what has happened to her, but I still hold on to the hope she's still out there, fine and dandy. Too bad I couldn't tell her what I thought of her."
Archer: "A vigilante we met in New Delta, protected the town and hated the sheriff, nobody knew who she was, but I have a feeling on just who she was. I don't know what happened to her.. we got no sign of her for months, maybe the sheriff caught her finally, or the wastes took her. Who knows, but hey, I tip my hat to you hero."
Danial 'Danny' Chambers: "A girl I met all the way back in Old Delta, great friend of mine, thought she was just a funny girl until, when I needed her most, she was there for me after I thought Lilliana died, and stood by my side as I took on the warhounds, and kept me from losing everything in the end, I owe her so much, though I don't know where she's been since then."
Sandra Dupres: "An old friend from an old time, wish I knew you had made it out of there, sorry I wasn't there for you. Rest in peace."
Lawrance 'Law' Anderson: "A man I had known since the early times of Old Delta, been through all sorts of chaos and strife from then, up untill near when Greystone was leveled. We had our differences at times, but aside from that, we were close friends, the only man I would ever call brother, I wish I knew how he was doing, though, I have a good idea how he is, bringing justice to some other corner of the wasteland, and probably bible-thumping whoever else was in the area."
Lola 'Fix' Powell: "A happy go-lucky girl, a mechanic like me, though she seemed more of the 'mad scientist' type in my eyes. No idea where she is since Greystone, perhaps she found another place to settle in."
Rodrick Reeves: "A man from Greystone, pretty strange, kept to himself often, always wore a mask, though he had a good heart, he looked after others, especially this girl he basically adopted, he's a good person, though I wonder what he thinks with all that time he has where he just keeps quiet, watching. No idea where he's been since Greystone fell, maybe he went justice-seeking with that mercenary friend of his."
Matthew Antiagio: "A NCR soldier I've known through Old Delta and Greystone, a pretty good guy, but he's nowhere close to being cut out for military. Hopefully he's gotten better after that accident with a behemoth.. though I doubt anyone can fix that without an autodoc. No idea where he's been since Greystone fell."
Sgt. Steamroller: "A perfectly functioning, insane, nationalism-driven Mr. Gutsy, and he's not even been turned into a raider attack dog, lucky for me. I met him in Greystone, he's convinced I'm some kind of military repairman that's certified, so he's friendly to me. I saw him briefly at New Delta, but he drifted away over time, I don't know where he is."
David Forrester (Deceased): "An old friend of mine, used to be Lilliana's husband, then he decided to suicide bomb the warhounds. He thought he was doing some good for the town, but really he ended up sealing the town's fate without realizing it. I didn't get to know him as well as I would have liked to, but hey, it's the wasteland, rest in peace."
Jimmy Romaro: "A dirty, scamming, mutant fly person, and he's absolutely hilarious. Knew him mostly in Greystone, though he lingered around in Old Delta, and I got to see him here and there in New Delta. He started out as an ass, but over time, I grew to like him, we had similar views on matters, he was entertaining, and heck, when he had to pick up his act, he did it, although he wasn't happy about it. I just hope he's alright."
Doctor Folestine: "A friendly, cheery doctor, and she's one of the few things that made everyone in New Delta smile. Much better with medicine than I am, and a happy face to see. She's the one who convinced me to really be a father for my son. It's a shame I have no idea where she is, I hope she's alright."
Lars: "Lilliana Sheng's Asshole brother, I used to really hate him, but over time, I saw what he did, and I saw how he'd changed a bit, and how he stayed the same. He's not as much of an ass as I thought, he's the poor sod who had to, and possibly still has to deal with her, such a thing for so long would drive anyone insane. Good luck you crazy man."
Darren: "A really suspicious guy, knew him in New Delta, I don't know why, but he always put me on edge when we talked."
Zoey Dubois: "A NCR chick I dated once, I don't know what I saw in her at that time, she was a real bitch when it came to it. Got killed by warhounds before I could try and get back together with her."
Lilliana Sheng: "I met her in Greystone, fell in love with her, and then thought she died, apparently she just abandoned me and everyone else. Then one day she came back, and it did nothing but make everything worse, she pushed out Eli, that's the only good thing she did for me. We had our good times, but when I look back on it, she was terrible for me. She split from New Delta with my son, Eli, before I had a chance to stop her and take my son back, I have no idea where she is, but I'm putting my caps out there to make sure I get my damn son back."
"The Sheriff": "I raise my glass, to the biggest pain in my ass. This is a ghoul in power armor who has proven himself resilient in being both a mad scientist, and a complete burden on the wasteland and anyone unfortunate to live near him. He killed plenty of people, kidnappe Deputy Silverstone, and pissed everyone off in town, even going so far as to nuke the place so we left him alone. Then he just pulled a repeat performance on New Delta, though, minus the radioactive fire."

Ryan Danes: BoS head mechanic, division 346, Utah branch. Serial: 34578654.
Sole survivor of breech incident 046, case notes included.
-Breech incident 046-
{xx/xx/xxxx 15:28}
During a communal trial on suspicions of ammunition disappearances in the base, the main gate was left open, the majority of the division was attending the trial, when a large, reptilian creature, later identified as a deathclaw, entered the premises. before any units could respond, the creature attacked the courtroom, decimating the fighting force of the vault. When the alarms sounded, many of the remaining units attempted to reach the exit, with a few charging for the armory, resulting in their demise at the claws of the creature. Mechanic Ryan Danes was alerted, abstaining from the trial due to "distaste in the lack of trust for each other" displayed in his peers. In response to the alarm, he sealed the blast doors to the armory, after being alerted to the presence of the creature coming his way, he quickly mounted a customized set of power armor he had been assigned to, as well as grabbed a super sledgehammer and mini-gun, as he did so, another soldier entered the room, attempting to don the armor, but was stopped as the creature tore through the doors and attacked. Danes attempted to knock the beast back, and succeeded in doing so, but the cost was an uncontrollable recoil of the hammer, resulting in the head tearing through the abdomen of unit 456, Tyler Dupres, severing his spinal cord and separating his upper and lower body. After a period of 40 minutes Danes successfully destroyed the creature with a combination of mini-gun fire and sledgehammer blows.
-End of report-
After breech incident 046, Danes proceeded to march to the nearest brotherhood outpost after gathering personal items and survival supplies, finding no survivors. He was found after a week by brotherhood division 586 in Nevada. After transport to a local headquarters for reassignment, Danes seemed distraught when viewing his new division, 486 argue over possibilities of legion spy activity in their division. After witnessing this, Danes faced commander Argus and disengaged from his power armor, threw down his rifle, and stormed off with his belongings and was unheard of again, his current location is unknown.

Ryan's Journal: [One day prior to the day of reckoning.]
Oh my god.... I entered the basement, it's... it's hell... ghouls, armored ones, jumpsuit ones... everything. It's a hellhole down here, I've had to shoot them all, normal stuff, but all the death around me, it's unbelievable. I fought off a swarm of bots with that Toby guy, some NCR soldier, I found a pip-boy, the crown jewel of all scavengers, I'm so happy! But here's the thing, amist that, there's still all the fucked up shit. Top it off, I met a deathclaw in there, not just that, but a TALKING ONE! I can't believe it, the thing didn't attack, it just wanted to survive, poor bastard lost his family, they didn't make the trip, so he shielded himself inside this bunker. Wish I could help, but I'm not risking getting close to that thing, even if he seems friendly, I see him again, under different circumstances, maybe. Just maybe we could be friends. I went through further, getting all kinds of shit along the way, what do you know? I found it... an unspeakable horror... A fucking nuclear war room, filled with disfigured and destroyed bodies, nuclear launch computers and buttons, booze, guns, bullets, casings.... I couldn't let this fall into the hands of those warhound bastards. I dismantled everything, the button, the computer, the programming and connection, the monitors, everything filled with bullets... I would never let anyone have that power, especially some raiders..... people can't play god anymore, that's how we got into this situation with the wasteland in the first place. So, with that gone, I'm leaving town, not going to be here for a fight I didn't start, and tried to prevent. I just hope my friends are safe as I take this car out... hoping to get another town set up for everyone before this all goes to hell.

---A page from Ryan's Journal.---
You know, I feel kind of bad, abandoning everyone sitting around still in New Delta, I'd love to stay, but I can't stay in a dying town, it'd hurt too much to watch. Ever since the incident with the dam, the NCR withdrew from the area, the Crimson Caravan followed, not having as much business without them, so the town started to lose their caps, people wouldn't come in anymore, we were running out of money, food, water, it was bad, people were starting to walk out of the town, the place was filled with more tumbleweeds than people in the end, so I saddled up my car, took one last look, and drove off, heading north. I had no idea if I'd find anyone ever again, but that might have been for the best, so I kept heading north. I stopped in New Vegas for a while, taking a look around, apparently some mailman managed to change the entire place in a few years, now Mr. House has come back like a ghost of the past and used this kid to take back the Mojave from the NCR and the Legion, it's unbelievable, though, I don't know how long it'd last, so I visited whatever friends I had up there, and I kept heading north, I didn't want to be anywhere close to the Legion or the NCR, so I figured, they're both ready for the desert, they have no chance where it's colder, so off I went, and oh how interesting the trip has been, rocks, mountains, rivers, swamps, all sorts of things I'd not experienced much before, new creatures, it was so fascinating. Anyways, as I write this, I'm far north, looking around to the future to see what's in store for me, onward I guess.

-Breech incident 046-
{xx/xx/xxxx 15:28}
